Postcard of autumn in Melbourne
I can’t quite past the mental block of seasons in the opposite hemisphere. April showers bring May flowers, and June brings barbecues, bikinis and bike riding. In Australia, however, April simply brings a cold snap that doesn’t quite go away. I still haven’t been able to bring myself to buy gloves and a hat–summer is just around the corner, right?–even though there is snow falling right outside of the city.
However, we’ve been blessed with a few gorgeous autumn days lately: bright blue and sunny skies, vibrant changing leaves, a crispness in the air that almost makes you want to take your jacket off.
Woke up to this view from my bedroom window: how can it not be a wonderful day after that?
