Nutella is the beverage of champions
My cocktail/barista/life-in-general tip of the day: just add Nutella.
I’ve found a cafe here that clearly caught on to the American obsession: they have Nutella EVERYTHING. Nutella muffins, milkshakes, cookies, hot chocolate. And bagels. Real bagels with real cream cheese that tempt me every time I go in.
However, I haven’t been able to say no to the Nutella yet. Bagels will have to wait. I’m paying a ridiculous amount of Euros for my Nutella fix, since I know the jar will be empty in 2.5 seconds if I actually buy one. Better to ration my chocolate-hazelnut gloriousness intake.
If you have a bit more self-control than me, however, the Nutella drinks are super easy to make at home. Here are a few ideas to get your brain stirring with Nutella envy.
Nutella-cino: Make espresso. Add a dollop of Nutella. Stir. Serve. Enjoy.
Nutella coffee: Make coffee. Add a dollop of Nutella. Stir. Serve. Enjoy.
Nutella milkshake: Put half parts milk and Nutella in a blender (basically, half the jar). Maybe throw some ice, vanilla yogurt or ice cream in. Blend. Serve. Enjoy.
Nutella hot chocolate: Make hot chocolate. Add a dollop of Nutella. Stir. Serve. Enjoy.
Do you see a pattern here? Basically, add Nutella to anything and it instantly becomes a million times more delicious. Don’t forget to stir, unless you want a regular drink and heap of Nutella at the bottom. I made that mistake once, and while the last drop was delicious, the rest of the drink was pretty boring. And if you feel like starting the weekend early, don’t forget about my Nutella cocktail recipe.
Cheers!
