One last postcard from Nice
I still can’t believe that I’m wrapping up my last week in Nice. I’ve decided to spend my last month traveling—but not through the less-touristed parts of France, as originally planned. I’ll save the wine tasting and oyster slurping for when I have a travel companion. Instead, I’ll be boarding a plane on Friday to explore Stockholm for the first time before meeting up with and visiting friends in England, Paris, Amsterdam and Provence.
I’ll be stopping back in Nice for a few days before flying back to California, so it’s not quite good-bye. But as I wrap up my last week here, I’m still shocked by how fast time has flown. It seems like just yesterday I was quitting my job, packing up my life and crossing my fingers the Iceland volcano wouldn’t disrupt my travel plans.
It’s been a whirlwind of a six months since I launched C’est Christine. I still feel like I’m living my dream, and I’m almost surprised at how happy I consistently am. Mostly, it feels like I’ve made the right choice–my heart and head are in happy accord.
Cheers and thank you to all my readers who have followed my life in the French Riviera. I might be switching up locations, but I still have big travel dreams. Nice has become my home, and I think I’m only OK with leaving it because I know there are bigger things in store. C’est Christine might become a little less France-focused, but there’s no end in sight for this site and my adventures.
