The best $2.75 view in New York City
The greatest (and most overwhelming) part about living in New York City is that there is ALWAYS something new to do. I’ve lived here for more than three years and have crossed a lot off my New York must-do list–but there are still things that I’ve wanted to do and just haven’t found the time for. Case in point: the Roosevelt Island Tramway! When I saw the incredible cherry blossoms in bloom on Roosevelt Island this spring (something I’d add to any flower lover’s must-do list), I took the (ugh, so boring) subway. Earlier this spring, my friend Jessica and I had chatted about how we both wanted to see the views from the Roosevelt Island Tramway–and we finally made it happen earlier this week. It was a bit of a spontaneous Instagram date, but it was so fun to catch up while taking photos and taking in the view: we ended up riding the tram four times in a row! It only costs a MetroCard swipe, which is covered if you have an unlimited card. Although we took advantage of a Monday off work and went in the middle of the day, I already want to go back to see the sunset (or maybe a sunrise!) from this vantage point.
Have you taken the Roosevelt Island Tramway? What’s your favorite time to go?
