Postcard from Nyack
I’m constantly surprised at how different life is once you leave the five boroughs of New York City: you don’t have to go too far before you feel like you’re surrounded by fresh air and silence, instead of the constant smog and chaos of the city. The Hudson River Valley is full of adorable, laid-back small towns and lush green hills–and it’s less than an hour from the heart of Manhattan. We spent a weekend in the village of Nyack earlier this summer, and I fell in love with the tree-lined streets, family-owned boutiques and rambling old Victorian houses with their perfectly manicured lawns and gardens. I spent so much time just wandering around the town with Gertie in tow, admiring the architecture and wondering what it would be like to live in a little town like Nyack.
We stayed at The Time Nyack for a weekend, and absolutely loved it!
